The versatile stainless steel fiber sintered felt filter material is an efficient, high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant filter material. This material is made by a special manufacturing process in which stainless steel fibers are ground, laminated, and then diffused and bonded (i.e. sintered) at high temperatures to form a porous structure with high porosity and uniform pore size distribution.

 

Production process

The production process of the versatile stainless steel fiber sintered felt filter material begins with the selection of stainless steel fibers of suitable diameter. These fibers are usually between a few microns and tens of microns in diameter. First, these fibers are dispersed and then evenly laid into a network structure through special equipment. Next, the laid fiber web is placed in a high temperature furnace for sintering. In this process, the fibers are partially melted under the action of high temperature, and welding points are formed between adjacent fibers, thus forming a three-dimensional network structure with high strength and stability. The sintering process needs to be carried out in a protective atmosphere (such as argon or nitrogen) to prevent the fiber from oxidizing.

 

Physical and chemical properties

1. High porosity

The porosity of stainless steel fiber sintered felt can be as high as 85% to 90%, which makes it highly permeable and low flow resistance, making it suitable for rapid filtration of fluids.

2. Uniform pore size distribution

The material is able to provide a very uniform pore size distribution, which is achieved by adjusting the fiber diameter and sintering conditions. The uniform pore size ensures efficient particle interception and a low particle release rate.

3. High temperature resistance

Due to the use of high temperature resistant materials such as stainless steel, stainless steel fiber sintered felt can work stably at temperatures up to 1000 °C, suitable for many high temperature environments.

4. Corrosion resistance

The stainless steel material gives the sintered felt good corrosion resistance, allowing it to cope with most acids, alkalis and organic solvents.

5. High mechanical strength

The weld joints formed during the sintering process increase the mechanical strength of the material, enabling it to withstand higher pressure and mechanical impact.

6. Washable and regenerative

The porous structure of the sintered felt allows for the removal of trapped particles by backwashing or chemical cleaning, enabling the regeneration of the filter.
