How to clean and maintain the Lube Oil Filter Elements?

Jul 26, 2022

The Lube Oil Filter Elements mainly plays the role of filtering out impurities in the lubricating oil. It is generally used in hydraulic stations and hydraulic/lubricating systems.

It should be cleaned regularly, because the Lube Oil Filter Elements has been used by the lubricating oil for a period of time. In order to ensure that the hydraulic oil filter element prolongs its life, it is necessary to regularly check and clean the hydraulic oil filter element!

If the hydraulic oil filter element is made of metal mesh or copper mesh, you can soak it in kerosene for a period of time, and then blow it with an electric wind, so that the blockage and stains can be cleaned up.

If the hydraulic oil filter element is made of glass fiber or filter paper, it cannot be cleaned, and cleaning will not work. In this case, a new hydraulic oil filter element needs to be replaced.

In the hydraulic system, the hydraulic oil/Lube Oil Filter Elements is used to filter out solid particles and colloidal substances in the working medium, effectively control the pollution degree of the working medium, keep the oil circuit clean, and prolong the service life of the hydraulic system as much as possible.

Hydraulic oil/Lube Oil Filter Elements is used in steam turbine, boiler lubrication system, feed pump, fan, hydraulic coupler, speed control system, bypass control system oil purification.

Lubricating oil filter cleaning process

1. Before cleaning the Lube Oil Filter Elements, make sure that the unit is closed and the safety lock is down. Try not to choose the weather with large dust and sand, so as to prevent impurities from entering the oil.

2. Simple cleaning of foreign objects and impurities around the fuel tank. For grease, remove the exhaust cap and press the breathing valve to completely release the pressure in the lubricating oil.

3. Next, you can gradually remove the bolts, cover, etc., and carefully remove the filter element first. Observe whether the status of the Lube Oil Filter Elements of the LY-48/25W-40 small machine needs to be replaced. If not, just wash it with clean oil, and then determine whether the O-ring needs to be replaced according to the situation.

4. The next step is to reinstall in sequence, then start the unit to run at low speed for a few minutes, and check whether the amount of lubricating oil is sufficient after operating each action.

Under normal circumstances, unless it is a very old machine or the oil quality is poor, the filter element does not need to be replaced frequently. Unless everyone observes that the surface of the filter element has suffered significant wear and damage, it can be used after thorough cleaning with clean oil.

Analysis of the most common failure causes of hydraulic/lubricating systems

Leakage, poor sealing, long-term thermal load of oil, open oil storage, etc. Moisture and gas in the air infiltrate into the oil, resulting in water and gas in the lubricating oil.

Due to the leakage of the lubrication system, the entry of particles and dust in the air or the falling off of the system wear and tear, and the long-term operation of the lubricating oil under high temperature and water content will inevitably lead to part of the oil cracking and deteriorating to precipitate colloidal substances.

Hazards of water, gas and impurities in lubricating oil:

1. The oil is rapidly oxidized and deteriorated to form acid substances, which corrode the metal contact surface;

2. The precipitation of additives in the oil fails, the thickness of the lubricating film of the oil decreases, and the wear of the mechanical contact surface increases;

3. The oil lubrication, cooling and flow properties are reduced, which accelerates the fatigue of the metal surface;

4. Ice crystals formed at low temperatures block components;

5. The oil system responds slowly and is accompanied by irregular actions, and the conductivity is reduced;

6. Damage the oil pump and power equipment due to cavitation.
