Working principle

1. The formation and filtration process of the filter cake layer

When the candle filter is in operation, the raw liquid is introduced into the filter, passing through the porous filter element and the filter cloth wrapped on it. Solid particles in the liquid are trapped on the surface of the filter cloth, and over time, these solid particles gradually accumulate on the filter cloth, forming a layer of "filter cake". This layer of filter cake acts as an additional filter because it intercepts finer particles in the liquid.

2. Backflush cake removal and slag removal

As the filtration process continues, the filter cake layer will continue to thicken, which will cause the liquid to pass through the filter cake layer at a slower speed, which in turn affects the filtration efficiency. To restore the filtration effect, the candle filter adopts the backflush cake removal technology. This process strips the filter cake by applying reverse pressure to the filter element, causing it to fall off the filter cloth. At the same time, by opening the valve at the bottom of the cylinder, the accumulated residue can be discharged from the system.

3. Restart the filter cycle

After the backflush cake removal and slag removal operation is completed, the candle filter will re-establish a new "filter cake layer" and start a new round of filtration cycle. In this way, the candle filter can continuously clarify the liquid and maintain a stable filtration efficiency.
